Photo: Answered Prayers. Looking eastward from Menifee's Eagle Ridge hills area toward Hemet Saturday 8 a.m. September 10: No smoke trails visible arising from the 28,307 acre Fairview Fire after Hurricane Kay showered southwestern Riverside County with much needed rain Friday and into early Saturday morning. The Saturday 8:32 p.m. Cal Fire Report states the Fairview Fire -- which ignited in Hemet Monday and claimed the lives of a father and daughter attempting to escape in a vehicle -- was however, only 43% contained with 30 structures now destroyed. Before the rain Friday, the fire unexpectantly threatened Temecula's wine country residents who received evacuation orders Thursday evening. Since Hemet's 4.5 mile long Diamond Valley Lake reservoir was in-part designed to accomodate Supertankers for such a time as this -- where was one?
